3 Steps to Discovering God’s Will for Your Life

Discovering God's Will
As Christians, we are instructed not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what the good, acceptable and perfect will of God is for our lives. Therefore it should be our greatest desire to discover His will for our lives and do it, whatever the cost. Here are three steps to discovering Gods’ will for your life:

Knowing God

We can never know who we are without first knowing whose we are.

The first step in knowing the will of God for our lives is to know God Himself. We can never know who we are without first knowing whose we are.

King David spoke of his relationship with God by stating: “How precious are your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand.”

Jeremiah wrote: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Paul said: “If God is for us, who can be against us? There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Knowing the Word

The second step in discovering the will of God is through the study of the word of God.

Proverbs says: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; But in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Is there any room left in your busy schedule for the Holy Spirit of God to use the Holy Words of God to reveal His will for your life?

Being Available

It is God’s will for you to be filled with His Spirit, to give thanks in everything…

The final step is presenting your life to God each day. Be available to serve your King. It is God’s will for you to be filled with His Spirit, to give thanks in everything, to abstain from sexual immorality, to endure hardship with hope, to be fruitful in every good work, to abound in love for God and others and to have a walk worthy of your calling.

“And the world is passing away, but he who does the will of God abides forever.” Therefore, living life in the will of God is the only place that a Christian will find the greatest satisfaction in life.
