Winning the Christian Race

If the apostle Paul were alive today, he might use the best highlight play on ESPN as an illustration for his next sermon.

Christian Athletes

Sporting events were like a religion among the Greeks, much like the media centers in many living rooms today. Athletes do not succeed by accident. Victory is the result of hard work. That includes long hours of practice and a lifestyle of serious discipline.

If anyone is interested in winning the Christian race, then Paul’s playbook is worth studying:

The Prodigal Student

Jesus spoke about a young man who was tired of the boring life at home. His dad responded to his demand for the inheritance check in advance. This fellow now had the cash, the passport, the time and the appetite for adventure.

The Prodigal Student

The new friends were many as he financed everybody’s pleasure and received all kinds of personal affirmation. The public opinion polls would say that his self-esteem was at an all time high. He finally had what he only dreamed about in that predicable life back home. The beer never tasted better and the women seemed available to the new boy in town. Work was not a necessity and life never started until noon each day. The people, the party life, and the paradise found. Who could want anything more?

Whatever Happen to Biblical Truth and Obedience?

According to the Barna Research Group, “70% of today’s youth believe there is no absolute moral truth and claim that all truth is relative to the individual and their circumstances.”

Because of the absence of conviction to biblical truth, Christianity could be redefined by the culture, as a designer faith. But building a life without a solid foundation on the Word of God will bring a fatal conclusion.

What Ever Happened to Biblical Truth and Obedience?

Because of the seeds of self-centeredness that were sown in the baby boomer generation, our current youth culture is becoming intolerant of those who believe in absolute truth. I am referring to the truth, which exist outside us, one that is true for all people, for all times and for all places. “Jesus will be ridiculed and scorned. He will be despised, oppressed, afflicted and rejected by men. He will be led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He will open not His mouth.” —Isaiah 53:7

Why Should Christians Vote?

Why Should Christians Vote?

Why should Christians vote? King Solomon said in Proverbs, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” A Christian who votes communicates their personal convictions about righteous leaders and righteous living.

One Man, One Woman, One Lifetime

One Man, One Woman, One Lifetime
Since marriage was literally made in heaven, it deserves a divine definition. The religious liberals confronted Jesus Christ, asking Him for a legal determination regarding marriage.
He begins His answer with a shocking question: “Have you not read?”

Jesus Christ, the Eternal God and Creator of marriage, references the Holy Scriptures as the authority to answer this question concerning marriage. How wise our judicial leaders could be, if only they would inquire into the Word of God before legislating and endorsing ungodliness.
